About SmartAITrends
SmartAITrends is an independent technology publication covering the AI tools, models, and product launches that genuinely matter in 2026. Every article is written by humans, grounded in primary sources, and hands-on tested wherever the product allows.
What this site is for
The generative-AI space ships a new "world-changing" model almost every week. Most of it isn't. Our job is to filter the noise — to tell a working professional what's worth their attention this morning, what can wait, and what's pure marketing. We focus on four areas: large language models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama), AI productivity workflows, AI image and video generation, and the broader tech-industry shifts those tools are driving.
Our mission
Cut through the hype with hands-on testing, plain language, and clear recommendations. We write the articles we wish existed when we were trying to decide whether to switch from GPT-5 to Claude 4.5, or whether self-hosting Llama 4 was actually cheaper than paying the OpenAI API.
Editorial standards & fact-checking
Every claim that can be checked is checked against a primary source — a vendor's official documentation, an SEC filing, a peer-reviewed benchmark, or our own measured results. Secondary aggregators are never our only source for a factual claim. Quoted benchmark numbers are linked back to the leaderboard or paper they came from in the "Sources" section at the bottom of each article.
When we get something wrong, we correct the article inline, add a dated correction note at the top, and link to the corrected version from our weekly newsletter. Significant corrections are listed on this page.
How we use AI in our own workflow
We use AI tools the same way our readers do — for research, outlining, summarising long documents, and drafting first passes. Every published article is reviewed, fact-checked, edited, and signed off by a human editor before it goes live. We do not publish raw AI output, and we don't pretend AI isn't part of the workflow. Full detail is in our disclaimer.
How we make money
SmartAITrends is supported by display advertising (primarily Google AdSense) and a small number of affiliate partnerships with companies whose products we already recommend. We do not accept payment for reviews, rankings, or "best of" placements. We do not run sponsored posts disguised as editorial. When a link is an affiliate link, the article carries a clear disclosure block at the top. Our full advertising and affiliate policy is on the disclaimer page.
Who we are
The SmartAITrends editorial team is a small group of writers, software developers, and AI practitioners based across three continents. Between us we hold day-jobs building production AI systems, shipping consumer software, and running ML research, which is why we tend to be skeptical of demo-day claims and interested in what actually works in production. We publish under a shared "SmartAITrends Editorial" byline because most articles are genuinely a team effort — reporting by one person, hands-on testing by another, editing by a third.
Editorial independence
No vendor, advertiser, or affiliate partner has any input into what we cover, what conclusions we reach, or which products land in our "best of" lists. We have walked away from sponsorship offers that required editorial approval. If a product we previously recommended changes for the worse, we update the article and say so — even when it costs us affiliate revenue.
Contact & corrections
Tips, corrections, factual disputes, or partnership inquiries are all welcome. Reach the editorial team at hello@smartaitrends.com or through our contact page. We aim to acknowledge corrections within 48 hours and publish them within 5 business days.
